Hello everyone!
Do you want to go behind the scenes of PhD studies? Do you like free food and drinks? My name is Pontus Lindgren and I am vice chairman of the educational committee at the physics and mathematics student division, SNF™. The educational committee has organized cocktail parties for many years to enable students and teachers to meet under less formal circumstances. We will hold a cocktail party this Thursday the 7th of November for all students studying physics or math at Chalmers, at bachelor’s or master’s level. The theme is PhD studies. The cocktail party is opened with a lecture by Pantea Dara (in English) and Ruben Seyer (in Swedish). They will talk about the everyday life of a PhD student and their research in experimental nanofluids and the intersection of machine learning and Bayesian inference. The lecture starts at 17:16 in KE. After the lecture, we will be serving free food and drinks in the physics department staffroom. The first 100 participants at the lecture are guaranteed entrance, and the rest are allowed if there is space. We will be giving out tickets from about 17:10 at the entrance to the auditorium. Last study period there were about 140 participants at the event.
